Easy to Remember Number and Keywords

Shortcodes use a 5 digit mobile phone number (instead of the usual 11 digits) and your own keyword so that customers can easily remember how to contact you. Your customers’ mobile numbers can automatically added to your database, and their messages can be forwarded to your phone, sent to your email address, or both. Incoming text messages can be automatically acknowledged with your personalised greeting so that customers know that you have received their comments.

Sub keywords allow you to organise your database and split incoming messages by any category. Customers could request a catalogue or join a mailing list simply by using different sub keywords, or you could identify different workgroups or project teams. Each category can reply with it’s own customised message or you can use a generic reply for all. Outgoing messages can then be sent to entire groups of recipients (sorted by sub keyword), allowing you to target your message and save time sending it.

Using shortcodes is ideal for marketing campaigns where your customers respond to some form of incentive, such as prize, voucher or as a request for more information. They allow your customers to contact you easily and their details are automatically saved to your database for future marketing campaigns. Your customers don’t even need to enter a message, just your keyword.

Competitions and text voting combine your shortcode and sub keywords so that customers can include a choice in their reply. An example would be a competition with a skill question and three possible answers. Your customers will reply with your keyword and then A, B, or C in reply to your questions. Each incoming number is saved in the respective category and the winner can be selected from the winning group. A similar principle is used for text voting whereby the total number of incoming messages can be monitored for each category.

Premium Rate numbers (reverse billing) can be used in conjunction with shortcodes so that you can charge customers for using your services. This is common with competitions, requests (music or video), downloads, charitable donations and multimedia.
